We start off by using plant-based milk as a healthy and sustainable alternative to traditional dairy milk. We then layer on the gooey goodness of both mozzarella and parmesan cheese – the perfect pairing for any savory dish. But it’s not just cheese that makes this dish so flavorful – we also pack it with nutrient-rich greens, such as spinach or kale, for an added punch of vitamins and minerals. And let’s not forget the star of the show – marinated artichokes! These tangy and flavorful morsels add a delightful twist to this classic dish. Altogether, these ingredients come together to create a scrumptious and satisfying flatbread that’s perfect for any meal.

Plant-Based Milk

In this Spinach Artichoke Flatbread recipe, plant milk adds a creamy and rich texture to the dish without the use of traditional dairy milk. This ingredient is especially important for those who are lactose intolerant or vegan and are looking for a dairy-free alternative. Additionally, plant milk provides a healthier option as it contains less fat and calories than dairy milk. The plant-based milk used in this recipe helps to bring together all the flavors of the ingredients and make the flatbread more flavorful and satisfying. Overall, plant milk is an essential ingredient that adds both creaminess and nutrition to this delicious dish.

Follow Your Heart Parmesan Cheese

Our Spinach Artichoke Flatbread recipe is made even more delicious with the addition of Follow Your Heart Parmesan Cheese! This cheese is a perfect plant-based alternative to traditional parmesan, made with a combination of organic coconut oil and nutritional yeast. Not only is it dairy-free, but it’s also non-GMO, gluten-free, and soy-free, making it a great option for anyone with dietary restrictions! With its rich and tangy flavor, this vegan parmesan cheese is the perfect complement to the savory flavors of the flatbread, creating a truly delicious and wholesome meal that you can feel good about eating. This is also the best ingredient in my Vegan Chicken Parmesan recipe!

Follow Your Heart Mozzarella Cheese

This plant-based cheese is a perfect dairy-free alternative for those looking to reduce their intake of animal products. Made from wholesome ingredients such as coconut oil and pea protein, this cheese is both tasty and nutritious. It has a creamy texture and a subtle, tangy flavor that pairs perfectly with the savory spinach and marinated artichokes in our flatbread recipe. This gooey goodness is actually also in my Vegan Protein Pesto Sandwich recipe!

One of the biggest benefits of Follow Your Heart Mozzarella Cheese is that it is lower in calories and saturated fat compared to traditional dairy cheese. This can be helpful for those trying to maintain a healthy weight or reduce their intake of saturated fat. Additionally, because it is made from plant-based ingredients, it is cholesterol-free. Lastly, because Follow Your Heart Mozzarella Cheese is made from plant-based ingredients, it is more environmentally sustainable than traditional dairy cheese. Choosing plant-based options can help reduce your carbon footprint and support a more sustainable food system!

Chopped Spinach or Kale

These leafy greens are packed with vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and K, as well as fiber, calcium, and iron. Chopping them up into small pieces makes them easy to incorporate into our dish, and their mild flavor pairs perfectly with the tangy artichokes and creamy cheeses.

They also add a layer of freshness and color to the flatbread, making it visually appealing and appetizing. Additionally, the mild and earthy flavor of the greens complements the tangy artichokes and creamy cheeses, enhancing the overall taste and texture of the dish. Lastly, adding chopped spinach or kale can also help to increase the fiber content of the flatbread, helping to keep you feeling full and satisfied for longer.

Marinated Artichokes

Marinated artichokes are a true game-changer in this Spinach Artichoke Flatbread recipe! These flavorful little gems are actually baby artichokes that have been marinated in a zesty blend of olive oil, vinegar, herbs, and spices. The marinating process gives them a tangy and slightly acidic taste that perfectly complements the creamy spinach and cheese. Plus, they’re a great source of fiber, antioxidants, and other important nutrients!

Instructions

1
Make and bake the pizza dough. Spay or paint the top of the crust with oil so that it gets golden brown.
2
While the crust is baking, make your cheese sauce in a large pot. Start by adding vegan butter or oil to the pot and sauté minced garlic until lightly browned and golden.
3
Add gluten-free flour to make a thick roux. Slowly incorporate plant-based milk into the pot and mix in all of your seasoning and spice. Mix this together well until fully incorporated.
4
Next, mix and melt in parmesan and mozzarella cheese until it is fully melted and combined.
5
Add in cream cheese and smash it to break apart the cheese and incorporate it into the sauce. Mix everything together well and make sure there are no clumps of cheese left.
6
To finish the sauce, add in fresh lemon juice from one full lemon and whisk everything together.
7
Once the pizza crust is done baking, decorate the crust with first a hearty helping of creamy cheese sauce.
8
Next, decorate the flatbread all over with chopped spinach, mozzarella, feta crumbles, marinated artichokes, and add a bit more spinach and feta on top.
9
Broil the flatbread at 500F for 3-8 minutes or until the cheese starts to melt. Spray a small amount of water over the cheesy flatbread and continue to broil until the cheese is fully melted.
